Freeview & Freesat

Freeview is a brand name for the type of digital TV which you can receive using a normal TV aerial. Being digital TV the Freeview picture quality is normally crystal clear and there are quite a number of Freeview channels available.

Freesat is similar to to Freeview with a similar range of free to air digital TV channels available. The difference between Freeview and Freesat is that Freesat is received using a satellite dish rather than a TV aerial. Freesat is particularly useful in areas of poor reception or low signal strength as it is not affected by the terrain or distance from the TV transmitter in the same way as Freeview is. All it requires is direct line of sight to the orbiting satellite.

For Freeview, depending on the frequency the Freeview signal is broadcast at in your area, we can advise whether you will need to swap your existing TV aerial for one which can receive those frequencies better.
