The Solar Diverter has been effectively installed, enabling us to now enjoy free hot water courtesy of the Solar array commissioned by Chapmans in May 2023. The faulty immersion heater has been replaced with a new one, professionally installed. Once again, the team has done a fantastic job, maintaining high standards, and all at a very competitive price. Many thanks and kudos to the entire team!

After a very costly and failed attempt to get my vintage Sanyo Reel To Reel tape recorder that I bought in 1971 fixed, I stumbled upon Chapmans Electrical Vintage Service, and I would just like to say what a brilliant service they provide. All the staff I encountered were professional, friendly, courteous and helpful. Ian the repair guy, phoned me as soon as he had the machine on the bench. He sounded, very knowledgeable, and told me what he thought, was required to get the tape machine up and running. He also gave me a very reasonable quote, and asked if I wanted to continue with the full repair. Well I did, and within a week, I collected the machine, fully working, both electrically and mechanically. It was so good to hear the old tapes again, from when I was in bands in the 70s. the sound of my kids voices, who are now in their 30s. Christmas singalongs from years gone by and, a certain Mr Edmunds slagging off one of our bands singles on Radio One. This is the real Vintage Repair Shop, and you don’t need a sob story to get the job done. Thank you so much for a superb service.

“I had spent nearly a year, trying to find someone to fix an electrical problem on a lovely 1960s light fitting. Had no luck until someone recommended Chapmans. This place is incredible. Not only do they fix things but they sell everything you could want to be electrical as well. all the staff were lovely, helpful and very professional. It is an old-fashioned place in the very best sense of the word. They fixed my light in a couple of days at a very reasonable price indeed. Definitely worth a trip to for anything Electrical. I have had such a terrible problems with Customer Service over the last few years with other companies, I just had to give them a good review as they really deserve it.”

Chapmans Saves Christmas
Delivered a Christmas Miracle! When the heating element in our oven broke at 14:40 on Christmas Eve we thought we would be unable to cook Christmas dinner but we called Chapmans at 14:45 and they delivered us a new oven at 15:15! We do live very near the store but to be able to do that and fit us in as a last delivery on Christmas Eve on short notice was amazing.
Luke answered the phone and was very patient and helpful. The delivery guys were also very helpful. The Bosch oven they delivered is excellent, was very easy to install and cheaper priced than John Lewis. A great local business. Thank you for rescuing our Christmas!

“Chapman’s are the best. Had to have an electric hob fitted in place of a gas hob, so it needed hard wiring back to the circuit board. Glyn came on the same day to quote and was very professional and friendly. The price was amazing given the prices I had been given elsewhere. We agreed the job and the work was carried out a couple of days later by Sam. Excellent workmanship, it was done in half the time other electricians had stated, the wiring was hidden behind conduit even in the garage and the conduit was discreetly fitted along the door frame. Excellent job Sam, couldn’t be more pleased. I would highly recommend Chapman’s, don’t waste your time going elsewhere.”
